Abstract:Quantitative photophysical, photochemical and photopolymerisation data are presented on five novel water soluble benzophenone photoinitiators. Phosphorescence quantum yields, triplet lifetimes and transient formation on conventional flash photolysis correlate with the ability of the initiators to photoinduce the polymer isation of 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate and a commercial monoacrylate resin in aqueous media. The results indicate that the lowest excited triplet state of the initiator is abstracting an electro… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
