Photoelectrochemical Detection of L‐Cysteine with a Covalently Grafted ZnTAPc‐Gr‐based Probe

Abstract: L‐cysteine plays a vital role in organisms, and is an important biomarker for many pathological diseases that seriously affect human health. In the study, a photoelectrochemical (PEC) probe with zinc‐tetramine phthalocyanine covalently grafted to graphene oxide (ZnTAPc‐Gr) was developed for L‐cysteine detection. Graphene oxide (GO) with carboxyl was used to immobilize zinc‐tetramine phthalocyanine (ZnTAPc) with amidogen (a graft structure formed by an amide covalent bond), which could firmly immobilize ZnTAPc,… Show more

“…The calculated limit of detection (LOD) is located at a very low value of 3.7 nM (S/N = 3). [46][47][48] In contrast, the quenching effect of D-Cys on the artemisinin ECL system was not signicant in the range of 0.01-0.30 mM (Fig. 4D).…”

“…The continual expansion in photoactive materials and sensing strategies has significantly propelled the rapid progress in PEC analysis [14–17]. As a result of these advancements, numerous PEC sensing platforms have been successfully established and applied for detecting various analytes, including ions [18], small molecules [19–25], biomacromolecules [26–29], cells [30–33], microorganisms [34–37], and in vivo detection [38–40]. A number of key reviews have comprehensively summarized significant research advancements in PEC detection, covering topics such as photoactive materials [13, 28, 41–52], sensing modalities [53–58], and target analytes [37, 59–64].…”

“…Therefore, monitoring the content of L-Cys in human body is meaningful. Currently, some analytical methods such as high-performance liquid chromatography ( Deáková et al, 2015 ), mass spectrometry ( Li et al, 2014a ), fluorescence ( Li et al, 2019 ), colorimetry ( Song et al, 2018 ), and photoelectrochemistry (PEC) ( Peng et al, 2020 ) have been developed for L-Cys detection.…”
