“…In our previous works [10][11][12][13]16,17,21,22 the photoisomerization of trans-L in fac-[Re(CO) 3 (NN)(trans-L)] + , NN = polypyridynes and L = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (bpe), or 4-styrylpyridine (stpy), and the luminescence of their photoproducts were investigated. Here, we extend our investigations by using 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (ph 2 phen) as a polypyridyl ligand in the photoisomerization of trans-bpe in fac-[Re(CO) 3 (ph 2 phen)(trans-bpe)] + in order to observe the tunability of the photochemical and photophysical behaviors of trans-and cis-isomer complexes.…”
