“…These various structures can provide the Ce 3+ /Eu 2+ with rich and different ligand environments, and adjust the emission and absorption wavelengths. Some compounds have been extensively studied, such as Ca-␣-SiAlON:Eu 2+ [6], ␤-SiAlON:Ce 3+ [7], SrSi 2 O 2 N 2 :Eu 2+ [8], Ba 3 Si 6 O 12 N 2 :Eu 2+ [9], CaAlSiN 3 :Eu 2+ [10], M 1 M 2 Si 4 N 7 :Eu 2+ (M 1 = Ca, Sr, Ba; M 2 = Al, Y) [11,12] and BaSi 3 Al 3 O 4 N 5 :Eu 2+ [13]. The above luminescent materials combined the unique luminescence characteristics from 5d to 4f transitions of rare-earth ions and the thermal and chemical stability of host materials.…”

“…4 However, this approach has obvious drawbacks such as low color rendering index (CRI), high correlated color temperature (CCT), unstable emitting color with different current and temperature because of lacking red component and bad thermal quenching characteristic. To overcome above problems, rare earth doped oxynitrides and nitrides phosphors are developed, such as Eu 2+ doped α-SiAlON, [12][13][14][15][16] CaAlSiN 3 ,17,18 and M 2 Si 5 N 8 (M = Ca, Sr, and Ba), [19][20][21][22][23] which have high stability and brightness. [5][6][7][8][9] However, this method also lacks of red phosphors with high brightness and physical and chemical stability.…”
