Abstract:Formation of highly oxygenated molecules (HOMs) such as organic peroxides (ROOR, ROOH, and H 2 O 2 ) is known to degrade food and organic matter. Gas-phase unimolecular autoxidation and bimolecular RO 2 + HO 2 /RO 2 reactions are prominently renowned mechanisms associated with the formation of peroxides. However, the reaction pathways and conditions favoring the generation of peroxides in the aqueous phase need to be evaluated. Here, we identified bulk aqueous-phase ROOHs in varying organic precursors, includi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
