“…It is worth emphasizing that the peak position (in particular the 144 cm -1 Eg mode) and the peak width (i.e., full width at half maximum are in agreement with literature data reported for TiO2 anatase nanocrystals). [32][33] No peaks either related to rutile or other TiO2 polymorphs were observed for TiO2/SWP700 (confirmed also by XRD). Figure 6 also shows the Raman spectra containing defect-derived D (disorder) peak centered roughly at ~1350 cm -1 that is related to the presence of sp 3 C-C atoms and G (graphitic) peak at ~1595 cm -1 that is related to E2g phonon of C sp 2 C-C atoms.…”

“…The most efficient composites were obtained from carbons with the largest specific surface areas and a suitable micropore-mesopore ratio, favoring the immobilization of a larger amount of TiO 2 particles, regardless of the pHPZC of the carbon ( pH where the carbon surface has neutral charge). Antonio-Cisneros et al 157 immobilized TiO 2 on carbon emanating from residues of the plant Manihot, and this ensuing composite eliminated nearly 100% of the dye upon UV irradiation under optimal conditions; a similar investigation has been reported using carbon from Manihot dulcis waste, 158 and the TiO 2 /carbon composite decomposed ∼50% of carminic acid under various conditions. Interestingly, the adsorption is reversible, and the dye can be partially recovered by desorption, which can be advantageous in the case of artisanal carpeting effluents.…”

“…There is evidence of its use since the tenth century. Various studies have shown that tunics and gowns were dyed with cochineal at the pre-Columbian time [10].…”

“…Due to this, in the last 10 years, the use of this type of dye has increased the demand by almost 150% [14]. Studies have advanced in order to innovate processes to increase production capacity and market for cochineal dye [10].…”
