Abstract: Chromophore molecules, such as chlorophylls and bacteriochlorophylls, bacteriorhodopsins, and quinones, are accommodated with photosynthetic proteins in photochemically active Reaction Centers (RCs) with interchromophore distances and gaps in the energy levels that ensure light-induced unidirectional electron transfer through lipid membranes.
