“…This infection is highly contagious and closely related to high morbidity and mortality among cat animals [ 1 , 28 , 29 ]. Therefore, timely follow-up, isolation, and monitoring of genetic evolution of FPV field strains are of great importance for further development of prevention and control strategies [ 30 , 31 ].…”

“…The condition for the PCR ampli cation was carried out as per Karanam et al [20]. The PCR-ampli ed products were resolved on 1.5% agarose gel in Tris acetate EDTA buffer and visualized under UV transilluminator (Syngene).…”

“…Eighteen randomly selected representative recent samples found positive by primer pair H for /H rev and obtained from diverse locations in India (3 samples from each regions), eleven repository CPV strains (2009-2019 isolates) and a current Indian CPV vaccine strain were subjected to PCR ampli cations to yield seven overlapping PCR products for generation of the whole CPV genome using the seven sets of primers detailed in Supplementary Table 2, followed by custom sequencing and sequence alignment. The PCR reaction mixture and the conditions of the PCR assay to amplify each fragment were carried out as per Karanam et al [20]. The details of the eighteen clinical sample and eleven repository CPV isolates subjected for whole genome sequence analysis are shown in Table 1 and Supplementary Table 1 respectively.…”
