Physical-chemical quality analysis of Serayu River water, Banjarnegara, Indonesia in different seasons

Abstract: This article discusses the analysis of the physico-chemical parameters of water in the Serayu River, Banjarnegara, Indonesia during the dry and rainy seasons. The parameters to be measured are heavy metals, alkalinity, pH, temperature, TDS, TSS, and corrosivity. The sampling location is at the mouth of the Serayu River, where Serayu River water is one of the Mrica Reservoir water sources used for hydroelectric power plants. (PLTA). When the samples were taken in the rainy and dry season in 2018. The results sh… Show more

“…The temperature in the research area shows that 6 observation locations are above the standard quality; The temperature value is related to the depth of the groundwater level and is directly proportional; The deeper the groundwater level, the higher the temperature as presented in Figure 3. Temperature also play an important role in chemical reaction that was done in the water (Cai et al, 2018;Purwono et al, 2019). In the study area, there are several anomalous points where temperature is inversely proportional to depth (22/DP/07, 22/DP/08, 22/DP/10, and 22/DP/14); this is suspected to be caused by land cover factors, the more vegetation that covers the land, the lower the land surface temperature will be.…”

“…The season affects the TDS value. The TDS value will rise during the wet season and fall during the dry season (Purwono et al, 2019). This occurs by organic and colloidal substances that enter streams during the rainy season (Effendi, 2003).…”
