Physical–empirical prediction model for the dominant mode of extreme high temperature events in eastern China during summer

Abstract: The dominant mode of extreme high temperature events in eastern China during summer shows a dipole pattern with opposite anomalies over southern and northeastern China, which explains 25% of the variance.
