Abstract:Three‐dimensional computational fluid dynamics simulations were performed to study gas flow, heat transfer, and catalytic reactions of vacuum gas oil inside spherical and ellipsoidal clusters consisting of fluid catalytic cracking catalyst particles. Simulation results with respect to gas flow inside the cluster and convective heat transfer between the gas and catalyst particle agreed well with results from the literature. Simulation results indicated that the gas stayed longer and had a higher temperature ins… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
