Given that much research has shown that reduced stress is directly related to reduced use/abuse of alcohol (e.g., Lamontagne, Hand, Annable, & Gagnon, 1975;Jackson, 1976;Strickler, Tomaszewski, & Maxwell, 1979), particularly in an adolescent population, relaxation can be an integral part of the prevention program. The relaxation training could follow the parameters of the technique outlined by June (1974, 1975).…”
