Abstract:Encephalitis is an inflammatory condition of the brain parenchyma accompanied by symptoms indicative of brain dysfunction. A headache, fever, vomiting, altered state of consciousness, and, in some cases, seizures characterize varicella-zoster virus (VZV) encephalitis.
