Pinch Anatomy of Forehead: An Injection Guide for Forehead Filler Treatment

Abstract: With the popularity of filler injections globally, more and more injectors are using them for facial shaping and reversing the aging changes of the face. Detailed knowledge of facial anatomy, especially of important vessels and tissue planes is essential for injectors. While performing filler injections, injectors tend to pinch the tissue layers with their non-dominant hand for ease of doing the procedure. Such deformational forces cause some changes in the anatomy of tissue layers held in a pinch. During a de… Show more

“…Last but not least, the perks of using AI in dermatology goes beyond building confidence in the patient, as it also helps guide the treatment processes of injectables, laser treatments, and surgical procedures. 9 Doctors are able to achieve previously unimaginable results by leveraging artificial neural networks which make complex mappings between inputs (e.g., images) and outputs (e.g., diagnoses) reliably accurate. Well known studies such as the ones conducted by Young et al and Brinker el al.…”

“…This change in the dynamics of cosmetic dermatological procedures promises a new order with new advantages and problems which we will discuss later in the ethics argument. Last but not least, the perks of using AI in dermatology goes beyond building confidence in the patient, as it also helps guide the treatment processes of injectables, laser treatments, and surgical procedures 9 . Doctors are able to achieve previously unimaginable results by leveraging artificial neural networks which make complex mappings between inputs (e.g., images) and outputs (e.g., diagnoses) reliably accurate.…”

“…3,4 To address these features in women, some individuals choose to use filler injections above the supraorbital ridge to achieve a smoother facial contour. 5,6 However, caution is necessary when performing forehead procedures due to the presence of major blood vessels such as the supraorbital and supratrochlear arteries, which pose the risk of serious complications such as blindness and tissue necrosis. 6,7 Volumising thread lifts offer a safer alternative to mitigate these risks.…”

“…Using this model, the authors were able to detect significant changes in blood flow or predict pending flap ischemia [8 && ]. Kapoor et al [9] discussed the use of light-enabled neurorobotic arm (LENA) as an artificial intelligence based precision tool that can map a patient's face and inject precise amounts of botulinum toxin and filler. The adaptation of ultrasound technology to this artificial intelligence tool was proposed to help it detect and avoid damaging underlying vasculature [9].…”
