Pion dynamics in a soft-wall AdS-QCD model

Abstract: Pseudo-Goldstone modes appear in many physical systems and display robust universal features. First, their mass m obeys the so-called Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner (GMOR) relation f2m2 = $$ H\overline{\sigma} $$ H σ ¯ , with f the Goldstone stiffness, H the explicit breaking scale and $$ \overline{\sigma} $$ σ ¯ t… Show more

“…• Quenches in our holographic superconductor model could be useful tools to explore the collective dynamics beyond linear approximation. In particular, one might think of extending the analysis of [100,101] to this case and use GL theory to interpret the numerical results. Nonlinear response is expected to be an excellent probe for the dynamics of the Higgs mode which is usually undetectable in the linear response regime [115].…”

“…and also with the holographic results for superfluids in [75] and the analysis of [84] (see also [100,101]). Interestingly, by decreasing the temperature, this mode collides with a first nonhydrodynamic higher pole (indicated with blue color in Fig.…”

“…Finally, we consider the light quark at the end of the string as a tachyon field, which couples to the worldsheet boundary by [56,57]. This term is typical for strings propagating in an open string tachyon background and is its background scalar [56].…”

“…Hydrodynamics and effective field theory with explicitly broken symmetries have been recently considered in the context of translational symmetry [47][48][49][50][51][52][53], U(1) symmetry [51,54,55], non-Abelian symmetries [56][57][58] and also higher-form symmetries [59,60]. Holography has played a fundamental role both in verifying but also falsifying the proposed effective descriptions (see for example [19]).…”
