“…Beyond conch, abundances of fish (Mumby et al, 2007), sharks (Gallagher et al, 2021), and spiny lobster (Lipcius et al, 2001) have long been relatively higher in the ECLSP, likely a result of both active no‐take management and assumed higher quality habitat. Fish diversity on patch reefs and on seagrass was not significantly different inside and outside of the ECLSP (Kough & Belak, 2022), suggesting that the habitat can support similar assemblages across the range of this survey. Broadscale shifts in the dominant habitat in The Bahamas, seagrass beds, have not been documented (Gallagher et al, 2022), and these play an essential nursery role for juvenile conch (Stoner, 2003).…”
