“…Secondly, hypertension and low HDL cholesterol levels may trigger in ammation responses (37)(38)(39), which can also cause damage to vestibular tissues and affect vestibular function (40,41). Lastly, it is possible that hypertension and low HDL cholesterol levels affect neurotransmitter secretion and function (42), thereby in uencing vestibular function (43). Further research is needed to explore the potential mechanisms underlying the association between low HDL cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and vestibular dysfunction.…”

“…Atorvastatin also increases receptors on the surface of LDL cells in hepatocytes, thus increasing the uptake and decomposition of LDL, reducing its adhesion and damage to vascular endothelium and inhibiting the secretion of inflammatory transmitters, thereby improving the function of vascular endothelium [12]. As a new generation of statins, pitavastatin directly regulates blood lipids and also functions in lowering LDL-C levels, promoting endothelial angiogenesis, improving endothelial function, stabilizing plaque, regulating immunity, resisting inflammation and oxidant stress and so on [13].…”

“…Different studies and reviews 10,12,23,24 have shown the effectiveness of pitavastatin in primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention, in patients with hypercholesterolemia and concomitant high cardiovascular risk factors (advanced age, diabetes, hypertension) and in subjects with coronary artery disease. In the TOHOLIP study 12 the cumulative incidence of the primary endpoint (composite of cardiovascular death, sudden death, acute myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, ischemic attack, or heart failure) was significantly lower with pitavastatin than with atorvastatin (2.9% vs 8.1%, p = 0.006).…”
