Abstract:Background: In India, 25%–65% of neonatal deaths are due to sepsis. Since it produces nonspecific symptoms, it is difficult to diagnose and manage. The present study assessed the value of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and C-reactive protein (CRP) to predict sepsis along with blood culture.
