Abstract: Çevresel varlıkların belirli bir pazarının (piyasasının) olmaması, dolayısıyla da fiyatlarının (ekonomik değerinin) bulunmaması, piyasa değeri olmayan bu tür varlıkların kullanımı nedeniyle ortaya çıkacak olan faydanın tam olarak tespit edilememesine neden olmaktadır. Tüketicilerin piyasa değeri olmayan varlıkları kullanmaları nedeniyle elde edecekleri faydanın farkında olmamaları, bu tür varlıkları bilinçsizce kullanmalarına yol açmaktadır.
