“…We utilized a complementary mixed methods framework in which we employed distinct methods that explored the same conceptual phenomenon (i.e., neighborhood environmental features). We come from interpretivist/constructivist epistemology (Chen et al, 2011) with a focus on adolescents' perspectives to elevate adolescents' voices and lived experiences (Alicea, 2023).
