Planck scale displacement of a connected mirror pair: an energy measurement in a gravitational field
Frank V. Kowalski
Abstract:Reflection of a particle from a mirror pair that is fixed to a platform which falls freely in a gravitational field is shown to infer displacement of the center of mass of this platform of order the Planck length. This displacement and its relationship to the wave and particle nature of reflection in such an energy measurement is elucidated using harmonic motion of the mirror pair.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
