Planning and optimization of robotic pick-and-place operations in highly constrained industrial environments

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to give a comprehensive solution method for the manipulation of parts with complex geometries arriving in bulk into a robotic assembly cell. As bin-picking applications are still not reliable in intricate workcells, first, the problem is transformed to a semi-structured pick-and-place application, then by collecting and organizing the required process planning steps, a methodology is formed to achieve reliable factory applications even in crowded assembly cell environments.… Show more

“…A robot must grasp the parts lying in random poses based on appropriate sensory information. A potential solution to this challenge has been presented in [30], where various parts are first loaded onto a vibrating lighting table, their precise poses are determined by a camera system, and then a robot takes them one by one to the part holder of a press machine, 2 see Fig. 2.…”

“…In a broad sense, the eco industrial park belongs to a complete system, including the subsystems of economy, environment, resources, management and other factors [1]. The eco industrial park system is similar to the material circulation system in the ecological environment, in which enterprises play the roles of "producers", "decomposers" and "consumers" [2]. The Eco Industrial Park, which gathers a large number of eco industrial enterprises, is a practical form of circular economy and sustainable development.…”
