Background. Wheat is a staple food crop and easily accessible to the population, so the biofortification of wheat grains is substantial to mitigate malnutrition. Objective. To evidence and select wheat genotypes based on nutritional multi-characters of grains based on genetic parameters. Methodology. Experiments were carried out in the 2019 agricultural season in five wheat areas of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in two sowing seasons, in the municipalities of Cachoeira do Sul, Cruz Alta, Santo Augusto, São Gabriel and Vacaria. The experimental design was randomized blocks, organized in a factorial scheme with 10 cultivation environments (5 sites by two sowing dates) and 30 genotypes, with three replications. To carry out the selection of genotypes, the WAASB, AMMI, GGE and BLUP methodologies were applied. Results. In terms of lipids and fibers, three mega environments were formed, highlighting the genotypes BRS 327, CD 1550, Ametista, CD 1303 and BRS 331, respectively. For mineral material, there was the formation of two mega environments and the genotypes that stood out were Quartz and Tbio Toruk, while for carbohydrate there was the formation of a mega environment and the genotype that stood out was CD 1550. The Tbio Mestre and LG Prisma genotypes were the ideal genotypes, with high performance in the Cachoeira do Sul environment – Sowing 2nd fortnight. Tbio Iguaçú expressed high levels of lipids in Santo Augusto – Seeding 1st fortnight, São Gabriel – Seeding 2nd fortnight and Vacaria – Seeding 2nd fortnight. ORS 1405 and Tbio Iguaçú expressed high levels of carbohydrates in the Vacaria - Seeding 2nd fortnight environment. Heritabilities without interaction effects were high, which characterizes high genotypic additive variance. Implications. The current results indicate that there is genetic variability, making it possible to select genotypes with greater expression of nutrients in the grains. Conclusion. The TBio Mestre, CD 1440, LG Prisma and Marfim genotypes expressed greater performance and stability of the evaluated traits.

Purpose: To present the benefits of increasing oat sowing density on productivity, uniformity, soil quality and reduction of pesticides and the use of an organomineral product based on calcium and potassium as an alternative to lodging control, promoting more sustainable cultivation systems. Theoretical framework: Increasing plant density can promote productivity, rapid soil coverage, reduction of weeds and greater harvest uniformity, reducing the use of pesticides. However, increasing seeding density can promote lodging. Lodging is the phenomenon in which plants leave the vertical position and fall to the ground, affecting the quality of the grains. The commercial product registered to control lodging is highly toxic to the environment. Organomineral sources with potassium and calcium represent an alternative for controlling lodging with reduced environmental impacts. Results: Benefits of increased seeding density to promote grain yield have been found for several crop species, reinforcing the need for adapting seeding density for oat crops. The use trinexapac-ethyl as a growth regulator, it poses risks of phytotoxicity and environmental contamination. In this context, several studies have indicated that potassium and calcium favor cell wall rigidity, potentially contributing to oat stem strength. Originality/value: This study provides significant contribution to the advancement of research on oat in Brazil, bringing new information benefiting farmers, technical assistance agents, and the food industry and improving the production system to ensure food security and care for the environment.

One of the factors of great influence on the agronomic performance of corn plants is their population arrangement. In this respect, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of plant arrangement and genetic divergence in different corn genotypes. The study was conducted in the county of Mineiros-GO, Brazil. The soil is Quartzarenic Neosol (Entisol). The experimental design used was in random blocks in factorial 8x2, totaling 16 treatments corresponding to 8 corn genotypes (A8740, A8088, DKB290, DKB390, DKB177, P30F35, P30S31 and P3707) and 2 spacing between lines (0.45 m and 0.90 m), 4 repetitions. The soil preparation was done in the no-tillage system. At the end of the experiment, biometric and productivity variables were measured and analyzed using Softwares R and Genes. The analysis of variance revealed significance in the simple and main effects. Genetic divergence and the effect of plant arrangement on corn genotypes were observed, where the variables plant height, stem diameter and the thousand grain mass were the main characteristics that influenced yield. Among the analyzed genotypes, the growing of genetic material DKB390 is recommended in rows spaced at 0.45 or 0.90 m, as it has plants with ears of greater number of grains, thousand grain mass and yield, demonstrating its plasticity in adaptation to the proposed systems.
