Plant Bio-regulators for Enhancing Grain Yield and Quality of Legumes: A Review

Abstract: Plant bio-regulators (PBRs) are hormone-like natural or synthetic compounds that are able to increase the yields, alter growth patterns, nutritional qualities and provide resistance to various kinds of stresses (cold, heat, drought, insect, diseases, salinity) when applied at very low concentration to the plants. PBRs are known to enhance source-sink relationship and help in stimulating the photosyntheates thereby reduce flower drop, helps in fruit and seed development in better way ultimately improving the yi… Show more

“…If it was possible to pass three passages in the cells of the first line successfully, it was not possible to isolate the virus from the second line. Instead, N. Kumar et al (2021) describe a successful method for isolating a new strain of nodular dermatitis virus from the Vero line. According to the phylogenetic analysis, the identified strain was a close homolog of LSDV Kenya, like in the current experiment.…”

“…So, low seed yield is one of the most problems for producers. Plant bio regulators are natural or synhetic compounds and they also have importance for increasing yield and quality of legume crops (Kumar, 2021). The studies relation to ethephon application on seed production of some crops are wide, but there are very limited studies for using growth retard in legumes.…”
