Abstract: Chronic, persistent and incapacitating autoimmune ailments known as Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) are marked by cartilage and bone damage surrounding the joints as well as systemic inflammation of the joints. The fact that 75% of RA patients are female points to the significance of hormones in the etiology of the condition.
