“…These results suggest that PAW improved soluble protein in both plants, under an optimum concentration of nitrate. Sajib et al [ 64 ] and Kučerová et al [ 41 ] also reported the positive effect of using PAW to enhance the TSP in black gram ( Vigna mungo L.) and wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.), respectively.…”

“…These results are similar to Kučerová et al [ 41 ] who also reported the decrease of SOD activity in the above‐ground part of wheat plant. Sajib et al [ 64 ] reported the opposite: they showed that the SOD activity increased in black gram root and leaves watered with PAW. PAW is a complex and rich medium of active species, and every specific PAW prepared in a different plasma source contains mixtures of RONS of different concentrations, so it is difficult to know exactly which specific mixture species could affect these antioxidant enzymes.…”

“…The plasma‐generated particles interact with water molecules and trigger several chemical reactions, which produce a unique mixture of biochemical reactive chemistries termed as PAW. In recent years, PAW has also been confirmed to possess outstanding biological activity in biomedical and agricultural sectors (Kaushik et al., 2018; Sajib et al., 2020). During PAW generation, the energetic particles in the plasma phase are trapped in the aqueous liquids, and a series of reactions at the gas–liquid interface is initiated, leading to various primary and secondary reactive species dissolving in the liquid (Gorbanev & Bogaerts, 2018; Khlyustova, Labay, Machala, Ginebra, & Canal, 2019).…”

“…The exposure of water to cold atmospheric‐pressure plasmas (CAPs) induces different reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) in the liquid phase, leading to the production of plasma‐activated water (PAW), [ 1‐3 ] and it exerts different effects on biological materials, mainly reduction of the bacterial load, [ 4,5 ] and in the agricultural field, leading to the increase of seed germination, [ 6‐11 ] plant growth, [ 12‐14 ] and induction of disease resistance in plants. [ 15‐17 ]…”
