Abstract: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are a group of nuclear receptor proteins that function as transcription factors regulating the expression of genes. PPARα activators reduce the quantities of available fatty acids for triglyceride-rich very low-density lipoprotein synthesis in the liver.
