“…The occurrence of respiratory failure was higher among unvaccinated subjects, although this difference was not significant statistically. Similar results have been noted by other investigators also [ 21 ], where significant differences were observed between groups in age, some symptoms and radiological findings. Although there is no strong association between the radiographic patterns and the causative agents, consolidation is more frequently observed in pneumococcal pneumonia.…”

“…It was concluded that previous vaccination did not seem to significantly affect the clinical outcomes. 37 In our study, 8% patients had both vaccines, history of hospitalization in the last year, reasons for hospitalization, and even infection were not found to be related with vaccination. We assume that the reason for the lack of relationship between hospitalization for infection and vaccination could be linked to the fact that besides the low number of patients, the etiologic agents were heterogeneous.…”

“…However, Demirdogen Cetinoglu et al showed that influenza vaccination did not affect the clinical outcome of hospitalized adult CAP patients. This result may be related to the low influenza vaccination rate in the elderly [23]. Therefore, further research is needed to analyze this in the future.…”
