Pneumoperitoneum and peritonitis secondary to perforation of an infected bladder

Abstract: Highlights Spontaneous urinary bladder rupture is a rare complication of urosepsis. Co-occurrence of pneumoperitoneum with a bladder perforation is very rare. Surgical intervention is mandatory in most cases of bladder perforations.
