Abstract:Background Hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy leads to neurologic impairment or even death. Secretoneurin (SN), a neuropeptide with angiogenic and anti-apoptotic properties, provided strong neuroprotection in an adult animal model of cerebral ischaemia.
