Abstract: Biotelemetry requires animal captures to deploy collars. Capture raises ethical concerns, as field chemical immobilizations are complex procedures, during which respiratory and metabolic disturbances frequently occur, which can disrupt cardiovascular, neurologic, and respiratory function.
