“…In the discourse of the protest, a key distinction was made between 'decent/normal citizens', 'decent Czechs,' and 'old residents' and 'gypsies', 'inadaptables', 'idlers', 'brown Czechs', and 'immigrants', who are responsible for perceived decay (Hejnal, 2012;Kluknavská & Zagibová, 2013). Though protestors were often unemployed themselves, the idea of Roma as undeserving recipients of welfare benefits resonated strongly with them (Janebová & Valová, 2016).
