The principles of parenting related to character development, including exemplary, togetherness in realizing moral values, democratic behavior, honesty, the ability to appreciate children's development and unity of words and actions. The original purpose of this study was to determine the role of parents in the formation of children's character in RA. Al-Miftah, knowing the conflicts that parents face in making children's characters and revealing the consequences of the role of parents on the character of early childhood. as a result of interviews using a group B teacher to be a class teacher at RA. the teacher of group B stated that the students were conducted by class teachers and accompanying teachers. Assistant teachers are assigned to identify children with special needs in care. Identification of learning needs is carried out using an exclusive plunge into the field, delivering instruments and guidance. Based on the data that has been observed by researchers regarding the role of parents in shaping the character of their students, most of the parents answered that they often guided 6 people (60%), who answered that they often guided their children as much as 4 people (40%), and those who answered do not guide their children. there are no children (0%), then the conclusion of the respondents regarding the involvement of parents in the formation of the character of students is very good.

Background: Children with intellectual disability experience problems in emotional regulation. This is important for children to control their emotions to face pressure and difficulties in their life. Parenting style will affect children's ability to manage their emotions and have a positive impact on children's well-being and children's emotional regulation abilities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between parenting style and emotional regulation of children with intellectual disability. Methods: The research design used a cross sectional study. The sample in this study were children with intellectual disabilities and their parents as many as 32 of 35 children who were in special schools in Surabaya Indonesia were selected by simple random sampling. Parenting style were measured using the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) and emotional regulation was measured using the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (ERQ-CA) with the Spearman Rho analysis test. Results: Most parents apply authoritative parenting (81.3%). Meanwhile, the emotion regulation strategy is balanced between using cognitive reappraisal (53.1%) and expressive suppression strategies (46.9%). The relationship between parenting style and emotion regulation is quite strongly correlated (p value = 0.003, r = 0.509). Conclusion: Democratic parenting applied by parents towards intellectually disabled children makes children better in terms of emotional regulation abilities. Special attention and the role of parents in this case is the application of effective parenting is needed to help children regulate their emotions which will have an impact on life in the future.

“…Banyak sekali problematika peran penting pola asuh orang tua bagi keberlangsungannya perkembangan anak usia dini, disamping kesibukan dari orang tua adapula orang tua yang belum memahami betapa pentingnya keterlibatan rang tua dalam mengasuh anak, hingga akhirnya mengakibatkan beberapa masalah bagi perkembangan anak di berbagai aspek. Dalam penelitian sebelumnya yang dilakukan oleh Uswatun Hasanah dengan judul penelitian Pola Asuh Orang tua dalam Membantuk Karakter Anak, yang mana menyebutkan bahwa karakter seseorang berkembang berdasarkan potensi yang dibawanya sejak dari lahir, akan tetapi semakin berkembangnya seorang apalagi anak usia dini, perkmenbangan anak juga melibatkan peran dari orang tua yang mana dibutuhkan dalam membentuk perkembangan dari karakter seorang anak, bahwa pola asuh dari orang tua dapat mempengaruhi dan membentuk pribadi dari seorang anak secara signifikan (Adpriyadi and Sudarto 2020).…”

Persiapan Proses Peran Orang Tua dalam Membentuk Karakter Anak Didik Melalui Bermain Peran, dalam tahap ini persiapan yang dilaksnakan adalah Identifikasi kebutuhan dilakukan untuk menggali tentang sumber informasi anak, data keluarga, dan keinginan atau kebutuhan anak didik yang dapat terpenuhi melalui penyelenggaraan program membentuk karakter anak didik melalui bermaian peran. Hasil wawancara dengan guru kelompok A dan kelompok B sebagai guru kelas di KB. Guru kelas B menyatakan bahwa identifikasi anak didik dilakukan oleh para guru kelas dan guru pendamping. Guru pendamping ditugaskan mengidentifikasi anak yang mempunyai kebutuhan khusus untuk dilakukan parenting. Identifikasi kebutuhan belajar dilakukan dengan cara turun langsung ke lapangan, memberikan instrumen dan pengarahan. Berdasarkan data yang telah diamati oleh peneliti tentang peran orang tua dalam membentuk karakter anak didik sebagian besar orang tua menjawab sangat bagus 4 orang (80%), yang menjawab biasa-biasa saja sebanyak 2 orang (20%), dan yangmenjawab kurang bagus tidak ada (0%), jadi kesimpulan responden tetang melibatkan orang tua dalam membentuk karakter anak didik adalah sangat bagus.
