“…[56] Lower dimensionality even leads to an enhanced anisotropy such as dichroism. [190] It has been reported that nanowires show superior performance due to i) the presence of hole-state traps at the nanowire surface, that enhance carrier lifetime, and ii) a shorter transit time in nanowires than in thin films due to the small size of nanowires. [191] Nanostructures of gallium oxide include nanosheets, [160] nanobelts, [44] nanoribbons, [192] nanoflags, [193] nanowires, [116] nanoflowers, [105] and even 0D nanodots.…”

“…Some 2D oxides also exhibit in-plane anisotropy, such as MoO 3 , [62] β-TeO 2 , [21,63] and β-Ga 2 O 3 . [64] Figure 3e exhibits the optical reflectance spectroscopy of MoO 3 nanosheet with the different linearly polarized incident light angles. [62] The linear reflectance contrast spectra (ΔR/R) show that the intensity changed with the incident light rotating from parallel to the b-axis to parallel to the c-axis.…”

“…28 UV light detection is essential for diverse applications including environmental monitoring, remote control, imaging and opto-electronic circuits. 29 The key features required for the UV detectors are the strong light absorption and efficient separation of photogenerated carriers. 30 Self-powered UV detectors are of great interest due to their zero energy consumption, sustainable nature and minimal maintenance.…”
