Abstract:Polarizability and ground state binding energy values are estimated of an electron bound to a donor confined to move in quantum well wire (QWW) within a variational calculation in the effective mass approximation. The calculations have been performed by using suitable variational wave functions for finite confinement potentials. We present our results for the polarizability as a function of the size of the wire. A comparison with the infinite potential case is presented. The electron-longitudinal optical (LO) … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
