Polaron and Finite-Barrier Effects on Polarizability of Shallow Donors in Quantum Well Wires

Abstract: Polarizability and ground state binding energy values are estimated of an electron bound to a donor confined to move in quantum well wire (QWW) within a variational calculation in the effective mass approximation. The calculations have been performed by using suitable variational wave functions for finite confinement potentials.
