Specifically, rather than being perceived and used as a strategic and contingent tool for political gain (Dolezal, 2015), for instance, during voting campaigns and personal branding (Giger et al, 2021), our study identifies broader contexts of Twitter impact, disjointed from the electoral or governmental cycle.
