Pollution of Pb Metal on Soil at Burned Forest Areas at Baluran National Park-East Java Indonesia.

Abstract: Burned Forest at Baluran Nasional Park occurs almost every year, especially the peak of the dry season. Forest fires cause soil nutrients on the surface and in the soil decrease in both quantity and quality; thus, affecting plant growth and development. The purpose of this study was to distinguish the contents of Pb metal in the soil in areas that burned and non-burned areas. The method used was a purposive sampling area. In each of the same stands were taken 5 soil samples with different coordinate points and… Show more

“…Menurut penelitian sebelumnya, adanya peristiwa rutin kebakaran hutan di Taman Nasional Baluran berpotensi menurunkan kualitas tanah di wilayah (resort) yang mengalami kebakaran sepanjang tahun, dan kualitas tanah di wilayah (resort) tersebut mengandung logam berat [4]. Salah satu logam berat yang terkandung di wilayah (resort) bekas kebakaran tersebut yaitu Kadmium (Cd).…”

“…Slashes are what is left over after the timbers have been taken away, and burning them eliminates all combustibles and eradicates most pests on the plantation, while also generating a large amount of nutrients through the combustion of the biomass. Although burning forest is a cost-effective and efficient solution to remove slashes [ 6 ], the high temperature generated by the burning of the slashes damages the soil structure and exposes the soil surface leading to increased soil and water erosion [ [7] , [8] , [9] ]. To reduce soil and water loss and promote sustainable plantation development, alternative methods for disposing of slash, such as leaving it in the plantation or removing it from the plantation, are being explored as substitutes for BF.…”
