“…Nemerow index is an incorporated approach for evaluation of pollutants in study locations as it takes inputs from other pollution indicators. Nevertheless, the assessed soil and dust environments are safe for societal purposes at the moment but should be monitored within long-term exposure [ 10 ].…”

“…The dust samples were collected by sweeping the rooftops and car roofs using a clean plastic brush and placed in polyethylene bags and transferred to the geology laboratory where they were first air-dried at room temperature, sieved and then stored for further chemical analysis. The total heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Ni, As, Pb, and Cr) contents in soil and dust were determined in triplicates using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS, Agilent FS240AA, Varian manufacturing Co. Ltd, Australia) prior to digestion method in HNO 3 - HCl- HF at the ratio of 1:3:3 following further standard processing [ 10 ].…”

“…Chemical precursors of benzene such as benzoates and benzoic acid triggers hyperactivity in children, as other related health effect includes malaise (vomiting, headaches, body weakness, esophagus irritation), pseudo-allergy, urticarial and DNA changes [23,[46][47][48]. World health organization (WHO) review shows that sodium benzoate symptoms are relatively mild and fade-off within few hours but can be adverse health effect over prolong consumption of soft drinks [23,[47][48][49][50].…”

“…Rivers act as a sink for these contaminants thereby increasing the ecological risk of the water column. During the translocation of HMs and PAHs in surface water, they undergo various transformations such as precipitation, dissolution, adsorption, and complexation mechanism [3] [18][19][20][21] which determine their nature of bioavailability [22][23]. Hence, continual environmental issues are envisaged with a possible threat to global human health.…”
