Poly(ethylene-Co-vinyl Alcohol)/Titanium Dioxide Nanocomposite: Preparation and Characterization of Properties for Potential Use in Bone Tissue Engineering

Abstract: A series of poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol)/titanium dioxide (PEVAL/TiO2) nanocomposites containing 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 wt% TiO2 were prepared by the solvent casting method. These prepared hybrid materials were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The pores and their interconnections inside these nanocomposites were created using naphthalene microparticles used… Show more

“…Sharaf Saeed et al prepared a series of poly(ethylene- co -vinyl alcohol)/TiO 2 NPs (PEVAL/TiO 2 ) nanocomposites containing 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 weight ratios of TiO 2 NPs. 273 The cell culture tests of these nanohybrids were evaluated on human gingival fibroblast cells (HGFs) in accordance with ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10993-12 standards, with studying the cell viability after 1, 4, and 7 days. The results showed a time-dependent improvement in the cell activity for all systems, and the cell survival for all samples was higher than that of the virgin PEVAL on day 7 ( p < 0.002).…”

“…The voltage between the oxidation and reduction peaks according to (Rahman et al, 2008) is theoretically 59 mV for a reversible reaction. According to (Jaziri et al, 2022;Dacrory et al, 2022;He., 2022;Mohamed et al, 2022;Saeed et al, 2022) XRD analysis of increasing peak intensity and increasing transmittance FTIR analysis can be determined that the H2SO4-1 sample as the best indicator electrode sample is composed of PVA-Enzyme/GA/PPy+H2SO4/PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE layers.…”
