“…Solidification was done by keeping the samples overnight at -20 degrees Celsius, resulting in a transparent hydrogel. The solvent was washed out by submerging the sample in MilliQ water and replacing it everyday for 3 days (Cha et al, 1992;Funamoto et al, 2014). The measured thickness of 10%, 15% and 20% PVA were about 12.4 mm, 10.6 mm and 10.5 mm, respectively.…”

“…Different materials can be used to fabricate the phantom model. For example, to test a guidewire or a catheter behavior, phantom’s materials used in the literature include polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), 102 PVA-hydrogel (PVA-H), 38 , 80 , 103 PVA-H and silicone (high transparency), 104 and PVA-cryogel 105 …”

“…The variation in flow phantom ultrasound lies in their respective designs. Two types of flow phantoms are commonly used-wall-less [24,25] and wall flow phantoms [24,26]. Wall-less phantoms use a tissue-mimicking material shaped to mimic the vessel lumen…”
