“…When Graham (1957) published his monograph of the genus, Oxygonum comprised 29 species distributed throughout Africa (except the north‐west area) and Madagascar (where only two species are known). Since that time only three new species have been described: Oxygonum robustum (South Africa, Natal) and O. altissimum (Somalia) described by Germishuizen (1987 and 1989, respectively), and O. annuum (Zambia), by Ortiz & Paiva (1999).…”
