Polymorphism of alkaline ribonuclease in the leucocytes of Black‐and‐White cattle

Abstract

Studies were carried out on the polymorphism of alkaline ribonuclease in Blackand-White cattle in the north-eastern region of Poland. Leucocytes isolated from peripheral blood were used. Three phenotypes were defined, consisting of the combination of two alleles. The gene frequency was: 4' = 0,7082, qB = Animal Blood Groups and Biochemical Generics 1-7 (I 981)

The allele RNaseB appeared more often in bulls than cows, but generally it was found at a higher frequency in adult cattle than in calves (Walawski & Prusinowska, 1981). Walawski et al (1982) conducted a further genetic equilibrium study, in which particular attention was given to random representation within a whole population.…”
