“…In this study, we reported 11 SNPs of the CD36 gene in the F2 resource group of yellow chickens, there are 2 SNPs located in the 5′ flanking regions, 8 SNPs located in the intron region, 1 SNPs located in the exon region. The results of Pearson correlation coefficients between traits displayed that most of the carcass traits had strong correlative with each other, which is consistent with the previous study ( Zhang et al, 2021 ). It is worth mentioning that the genetic correlation coefficients between skin yellowness traits and carcass traits were lower, therefore, it is difficult to selectively breed individuals with excellent skin yellowness using carcass characteristics.…”

“…Commonly identified regions by both iHS and ROH analysis harbored AMY2A , NTNG1 and VAV3 genes on GGA8. AMY2A encodes a member of the alpha-amylase family of proteins, which is involved in carbohydrates and glycogen metabolism, affecting growth, carcass traits and feed intake efficiency in chicken [ 37 ]. The previous report showed that AMY2A was under selection for metabolism, energy availability and response to thermal stress in African chickens [ 38 ].…”

“…Complementary DNA (cDNA) synthesis for messenger RNA (mRNA) was carried out using the PrimerScript RT Reagent Kit with gDNA Eraser (Perfect Real Time) (Takara). Quantitative real-time PCR assays were conducted on QuantStudio 5 Real-Time PCR System (Applied Biosystems Inc., Foster, Waltham, MA, USA) using the iTaq Universal SYBR Green Supermix Kit (Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc., Hercules, CA, USA) in triplicate, as described previously [ 53 ]. The relative expression levels were calculated using the 2 − △△Ct relative quantitative method, as described previously [ 54 ].…”
