In silico pathway analysis enabled us to identify 21 pathways associated with the 228 miRNAs and their interacting genes such as TGFBR2, TNF, MAPK, SMAD, including the TGF-β, glutamatergic synapse, and long-term depression pathways, associated with major depressive disorder, as well as the MAPK signaling pathway reported in previous studies [ 30 , 59 , 63 , 64 , 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 ].
