“…Universal primers 27F (5′-AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTCAG-3′) and 1492R (5′-TACGGCTACCTTGTTACGACTT-3′) were used to amplify the bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequence. The 25 μl PCR amplification reaction system contained 12.5 μl of 2 × Pfu PCR Master Mix (TIANGEN Biotech Beijing Co., Ltd., Beijing, China), 7.5 μl of ddH 2 O, 3 μl of DNA template, 1 μl of primer 27F, and 1 μl of primer 1492R as described in a previous study ( Xu J. et al, 2019 ). The bacterial 16S rRNA gene was amplified according to the following procedure: 95°C for 5 min and 35 cycles at 95°C for 20 s, 55°C for 20 s, 72°C for 60 s, and 72°C for 5 min).…”

“…Sensitivity to antibiotics was detected by the disc-diffusion method after spreading cell suspensions on R2A agar plates and considered as susceptible when the diameter of the inhibition zone was over 1.2 cm. The tested antibiotics were (μg per disc, unless indicated): amikacin (30), amoxicillin (20), ampicillin (10), bacitracin (0.04 IU), carbenicillin (100), cefamezin (30), cefoxitin (30), cefradine (30), cephalexin (30), chloramphenicol (30), ciprofloxacin (5), clindamycin (2), doxycycline (30), erythromycin (15), gentamicin (10), kanamycin (30), lincomycin (2), minocycline (30), nalidixic acid (30), neomycin (30), norfloxacin (10), novobiocin (30), nystatin (100), ofloxacin (5), oxacillin (1), penicillin G (10 IU), polymyxin B (300 IU), rifampicin (5), streptomycin (10), tetracycline (30) and vancomycin [30,43].…”

“…As of May 2023, the genus Pontibacter comprised 42 validly published species (www.bacterio.net/genus/Pontibacter) [2]. Members of the genus Pontibacter are characterized as Gram-negative, rod-shaped, catalase-positive (except for Pontibacter qinzhouensis [3]), MK-7 as the predominant menaquinone, with very high amounts of iso-C 15 : 0 (except for Pontibacter aydingkolensis , Pontibacter beigongshangensis , Pontibacter deserti , Pontibacter niistensis and Pontibacter ummariensis [4–8]) and summed feature 4 (iso-C 17 : 1 I and/or anteiso-C 17 : 1 B), and a DNA G+C content range of 43.9–58.6 mol% [1, 3–39]. During investigation of the microbial diversity of the pit mud of the Chinese liquor, two novel strains (NBU2971 T and NBU2972 T ) were isolated.…”

“…The DNA G+C content of members of the genus is in the range of 34.0-65.0 mol% [5]. Pontibacter species have been isolated from a variety of environments, such as soil [6,7], deserts [8], seawater [9,10], blood [11], wine mash [12] and rice paddy fields [13].…”
