“…The China Healthy Diet Index (CHDI) was used in the study of a prior dietary pattern, which was developed based on the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2016) in reference to the HEI-2010 ( 36 ). The CHDI was able to differentiate the diet quality of 55,528 participants from the Chinese nutrition and health surveillance (2010–2012) and was associated with a decreased risk of tuberculosis and hypertension ( 36 , 37 ). Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to extract a posteriori- derived dietary pattern, which was commonly used in the nutrition literature ( 38 , 39 ).…”

“…Several studies have shown that malnutrition can increase the risk of TB ( Sinha et al, 2021 , Martin and Sabina, 2019 ). Malnutrition is significantly affected by age, socioeconomic status, diseases, and eating behavior ( Norman et al, 2021 , Besora-Moreno et al, 2020 , Ji et al, 2022 ). Healthy eating behavior can improve TB patients' nutritional status to improve their immune system, which increases their cure rates ( Guideline: Nutritional Care and Support for Patients with Tuberculosis.…”

“…Investigaciones han descrito que, dentro de los factores de riesgo asociados a la infección por TBP, la alimentación es uno de los más importantes, pues la desnutrición se ha asociado con una progresión más rápida de la enfermedad y manifestaciones clínicas más severas (30). La evidencia sugiere que, del 32 al 62% de los casos de TBP presentan desnutrición (31).…”
