Poor outcome of sphincter repair: an evacuation problem?

Abstract: Patients with fecal incontinence due to sphincter lesions, but not those with idiopathic fecal incontinence, have reduced transport from the cecum/ascending colon and from the rectosigmoid colon at defecation.
