“…Through the shared group process, a rich understanding of their life emerged, which was validated by their peers, the research team, and forum attendees in a way that could not have been achieved through other methods. Although other research has used photovoice to explore Latino youths’ perceptions on health-related topics (Findholt et al., 2011; Gubrium and Torres, 2013; Schuch et al., 2014; Vaughn et al., 2008) this study was the first using photovoice to engage immigrant Latino adolescents in documenting the impact of their migration experience on their interactions with the healthcare system in a new destination state.
