Porous Flexible Wood Scaffolds Designed for High-Performance Electrochemical Energy Storage

Abstract: Natural wood has been physically or chemically modified to create new hierarchical structures for vast applications. We report herein the facile methods to synthesize porous flexible conductive wood for high-performance energy storage. Our delignification and densification increase micro−mesopores for higher surface area but decrease macropores to improve the scaffold's density, thus leading to ultra-high flexibility and excellent mechanical strength. Such hydroxyl-enriched flexible wood scaffolds (FW-RC) are … Show more

“…The series equivalent resistance ( R eq ) was extracted from the semicircles at the higher-frequency regions. 55,56 The R eq of the Mo 2 C-600, Mo 2 C-900 and Mo 2 C-1200 nanosheets were found to be 2.29, 2.36 and 2.01 Ω in 1 M KOH, respectively. The Nyquist plots of the electrocatalysts reveal that the Mo 2 C-1200 nanosheets exhibited the smallest R eq , which promoted the flow of charge carriers and enhanced the HER activity (Fig.…”

“…The appearance of the peak at 1646 cm −1 indicatesa C=C double bond backbone for CNTs. The peaks at 2847 and 2922 cm −1 are attributed to the stretching vibrations of the CH 2 /CH 3 groups present at the carboxylated CNTs [ 34 ]. The FTIR spectrum of the CNTs/ZnO composite shows the presence of ZnO−NPs via strong absorption between 500 to 700 cm −1 , along with the absorbance peaks from the leaf residue present in NPs.…”

“…Series equivalent resistance (R eq ) has been extracted from the semicircle at the higher frequency regions as given in the literature. 54,55 Nyquist plot reveals that the Ni 4g ZIF structure showed the R eq of 2.74, 2.14, 1.78, and 1.49 Ω at the temperatures of 25, 40, 60, and 80 °C, respectively (Figure 4a). Meanwhile, the Ni 2g ZIF structure exhibited greater R eq of 3.63, 2.58, 1.95, and 1.72 Ω at the temperatures of 25, 40, 60, and 80 °C, respectively, as given in Figure S8.…”
