Porous Materials for Atmospheric Water Harvesting

Abstract: Atmospheric Water Harvesting (AWH) using porous adsorbents is emerging as a promising solution to combat water shortage. Thus, a clearer understanding of the developing trends and optimization strategies of different porous adsorbents can be extremely helpful. Therefore, in this concept, the different types of porous adsorbents and AWH devices are briefly introduced with a focus on the factors that influence the static and kinetic properties of porous adsorbents and their respective optimization strategies. In… Show more

“…In addition, the characteristic peaks for alkyl CÀ H group at 2952 cm À 1 and 2915 cm À 1 appeared in FJU-CTF-TIZ600 and FJU-CTF-FIZ600, indicating the existence of a certain degree of destruction for the CTFs frameworks at 600 °C. As shown in the 13 C MAS NMR, the peak at near 174.1 and 150.6 ppm can be attributed to sp 2 carbon from the triazine unit and C-2 of the benzimidazole units, respectively. The appearance of new peak at 65.3 and 26 ppm in FJU-CTF-TIZ600 and FJU-CTF-FIZ600 corresponds to the aliphatic carbon, [16] again confirming the existence of framework destruction at 600 °C.…”

“…Using ionothermal polymerization approach with molten ZnCl 2 as catalyst and reaction solvent, four CTFs polymers including TIZ500, TIZ600, FIZ500 and FIZ600 were prepared from two kinds of bisbenzimidazole monomers containing FIZ or TIZ unit (Scheme.1), which were confirmed by FTIR (Figure S2) and 13 C CP/MAS NMR spectra (Figure S3). In the FT-IR spectra, the peaks around 2239 cm À 1 for cyano groups in FIZ and TIZ almost disappeared after ionothermal polymerization.…”
